We want to show our support for our indigenous communities.
While opportunities exist year around to learn more about our indigenous neighbours, this month is National Indigenous History Month. Time to learn about the real history of Canada’s indigenous people.
You may also wish to attend some online workshops at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival, hosted by the National Association of Friendship Centers. The festival began on June 1st and is running all month.

Below are a couple of links to organizations which provide educational information about Canada’s many indigenous communities.
The Native Women’s Association of Canada
Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs has a variety of resources about National Indigenous History month on their site.
To find an activity celebrating National Indigenous People Day you can check out the Government of Canada website at https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/campaigns/indigenous-peoples-day.html
Take the time to learn more and be part of the process of reconciliation.
